Has Anyone Succesfully Rattlecanned Lower Valence?

I was wondering a few things

Has anyone painted their lower valence ? If so did you paint it urself or did you have it profesionally done?

I have a feeling that it wasnt painted that way from the factory because of the damage of road debris and so I am leaning towards having it professionally done. How much do SHOULD it cost to have that piece painted...

Just to clarify im taking about the part of the bumper under the chrome on the earlier 4runners.

no that i think about it i want to have the rear license plate holder painted to match also... if you could please just give me an educated guess on each of the two because i probably wont have th emoney to do them both together.

At most auto parts stores you can buy special auto paint in rattle cans. Some is intended for exterior, some interior. I'n not sure if this helps but i'd also like to mention that they have some paint thats intended for vinyl and other surfaces I wouldn't expect to take paint very well. If I don't get up the guts to build my custom dash and center console I'll proboly try this stuff for my dash. My I've already removed the stock center console.

I had mine professionally painted a while ago. I think I paid $300 to have the front valence, rear license plate holder, and rear spoiler Jaos painted. They can add flex additive to help it not chip for the front valence, but I didn't have them add it, since they were painting the two other pieces. The paint didn't crack until I hit a tire tread that came off a big rig a couple cars ahead of me on the freeway a couple years later.

Good to hear, Ill look into that flex additive. Thank you guys.

I would take it off... but I have the bushwackers that come all the way down into the valence and I think that the Valence and the Tail Gate would look great painted white like my truck. Keep in mind, if I had built my 4runner to be an offroad I would have already purchased a TJM and a lift and some tires and a supercharger... but for now its a street ride and I like the look of the valence so I wont be removing it anytime soon. But I like my street queen and dont intend to change it anytime soon. Thank you guys again.
