Last Sat, I posted a thread re my 4Runner being hard to start especially in the morning, but anytime it sat for an hour or so.
Several replies said it sounded like the cold start injector and it was.
Dealer replaced the injector and also noticed it was really noisy when starting. They cleaned all the grit out of the starter, lubed it and some other starter maintenance. (contacts were replaced 30K so didn't need those)
It starts right up anytime and is much quieter when cranking.
Now if they'd only give it back to me with about 300 horsepower........

It doesn't have one. This post is 8 years old. The original poster must have been referring to a different engine.
