H2O pump bypass tube???

H2O pump bypass tube???
Water pump shaft broke on the way to the hardware store. Prolly gonna need new radiator. How do I find out if my water pump has a bypass tube or not? There is a $20.00 difference depending on if I have one or not. 95 3vze sr5 4 runner. Also what are we bypassing with this tube?
