it sounds a bit too good to be true, but if it is legit i would go for it in a heartbeat, it would leave you with more money to make an even better 4runner. but with the kid being 16 i would make sure for sure that you cant get screwed in any way

Fo Sheezy I would think you would have known better than to take this seriously. If people haven't said this enough already....he's 16, this is on MYSPACE. end of story. say piss off unless your parents want to call me or meet me to talk business. i don't understand how this got so much attention. now if it was a reputable adult on another site....

I'd give him a chance to give me the money and then I'd start building a new rig.

Probably has no chance of comeing up with the 30k, but there are a good number of 16yr olds with parents willing to pay that much for a first car. When i was in highschool there was a kid with a SAS'ed 2002 (new then) Toyota truck with like 6 in sus lift. Told me it was a custom special from the dealer for 38k. It was his first car and he had it for a month before he flopped it. hehe then he had to drive a geo metro

[FONT="Comic Sans MS"]i had a similar situation once, i had a '75 chevelle malibu bone stock 2 dr. coupe . w/a 350 2bbl /350 trans the trans only had 1st & 2nd gears NO reverse, & 3rd slipped really bad ! not a straight corner on the car,the engine has a bad rear main seal so when the oil light came on i stopped at a gag station and put 2qts. of the $.99 oil in the engine once a week !
bought it from a buddy ( it ran and drove great when i bought it ,but went down hill after about 3 yrs. of ownership) for $ 400.00 so i sold my chevette for $300.00 and came up with $100.00 out of my pocket (so far so good ,yes ? ) then i bought a set of chrome amer. racing wheels for $25.00 from another guy i worked with ,cleaned them up ,bought some 275/50r15 eagles for the rear & 205/75r 15 for the frt off the used tire rack at discount ,replaced alternator & uppr rad. hose. so now i've got like $200.00 in the car, ran like a scalded dog (135 miles per hour+ ) then sold it to a kid for $700.00 AFTER i told him i wanted $600.00 out of it !! he got rubber turning a corner w/bald tires & bad shocks !!!! but he wanted it !!! so i sold it to him, some 17yr old kids expensive lesson !!

if this kid profile is right and he lives in Vernon Hills he has the cash. Vernon Hills is a rediculasly wealthy area. i live about hour 1 1/2 south of there and it's crazy up there more itialian and german sports cars that you can shake a stick at. so tell him 40K cash and it's his.

I hated them too. They never work a day in thier life, and yet, for some strange reason they have a brand new vehicle every year. I just don't get what makes some kid's parents do that to their kids. What will they ever do in the real word, when mommy and daddy won't give them anymore money?

I know this one kid from my school who got a 2005 King Ranch Diesel, put a huge lift on it( I saw the stacked blocks out back. 24" rims with Mud Terrains cold air intake, bumpers and accesories. Traded it in for a 2007 King Ranch Diesel 2 months later, put a lift and tires on it 2nd day he got it. 2 eeks later he rolls it 3 times. His punishment was too come back home safely. When he rolled it, he said, "Aww man, now I have to buy another lift kit for the new truck I'm going to get." Anyways his parents buy him an 2007 Z71 1 week later.

No doubt about it, give him your CELL phone number and tell him to have a parent call him and if they say ok then sell it and don't look back! Even though i have put a lot into mine if someone was to offer me $15 for it i would tkae it no questions asked.

You can always build another one and there was always something that you did on a build up that you would od differnt if you did it again. plus with all the cash ready to go you could really have some fun rebuilding it.

I mean building it is more than half the fun!

Just make sure it is an adult that you actiually sell it to and that it is CASH or that you meat at a bank where you can get the cash. But if it is real sell it for sure.

Yeah, there are plenty of way spoiled kids out there and i have know a few like that myself that is why i think that this could be real.

I may not have had a car for a few years when my friends did but at least i have purchased everyone with my own hard earned $$$.

Grr I hate when parents just hand over the keys to new rigs becuase their kids did something good in school, or whatever lame reason they use. WHOOPIE they graduated. Everyone who doesn't screw off and act like a retard graduates. If that were the case, ~350 kids in my senior class should have had new Lexi waiting for them. GAH that pisses me off.

And its always those kids who are the WORST problems in society.

One of the guys I work with gave his kid his new hyundai, and instread drives a gas guzzling Chev 3/4 ton, all because his kid refuses to drive an old Corolla. Shoot, my first car was a beat up 84 VW Rabbit 4 door. It wasn't even the cool one! And I loved that car. Becuase it got me to WORK and BACK.

Anyways, rant off.

Any news on this kid, or this situation? I know you said you wre going to blow him off, but perhaps you changed your mind?
