The kid looks pretty gay as it is, and driving that truck would just confirm it...

And dude, if this is legit (200% doubt it) take the Cash, buy another truck and build it up again. You're guranteed 10-20K left over.

id go with Robs advice on this one.

but if you can sell it for that much, do it!!! buy you another 02, put offroad mods on it since I thought thats what you were thinking about doing anyways and still have money left over.

uh... why? only rich people drive big caddys like that, rich and the buttholes of the world drive em. plus he likes his 4runner. you cant offroad an escalade as well as an old yota. if you can without breaking stuff, let me know . theyre nice though.

Tell hm to put up or shut up. Tell him he will drive to a location YOU decide on, and will come with CASH. He will show the cash first, then you call your friend and have him drive the 4runner in from across the way. That way, if the little smartass decides to be cute and try to jack you, he wont be stealing anything.

Thats the abridged version. I could explain my idea in detail, but i think you get the jist.

x100! This is the best advice you've gotten so far. Deal with his parents if you decide to sell to him.

a week after I bought my 4 runner a guy asked me how much I would sell it for I said 8k and he counter offered me 4k I should have said 5 and sold it and doubled up my money and bought another 1st gen from the west coast.

I say sell it for cash only and have him drive down and pay you and make it very clear that you don't want him wasting your time or his unless he will pay the price you are asking.
I have to say he looks like a clown and is full of s*** BUT he is from the nicer end of Chicago.
30k is a good lump of cash make sure to have a friend or 2 there.

...I did this with my old tacoma. Kid wanted it. I told him the contract would be between myself and his dad. I had him meet me at a bank with a cashiers check. I took it right in and made sure it was good. I had a buddy with me and was armed. I mailed him the title once the cashiers check had cleared.
Good luck!

Take the cash, you should have told that fool that it was a special edition or some junk and jacked the price to 40K. If he/parents are foolish enough to pay that then let it go. I'll sell you my 01 for 30K and then you can mod it out and I'll get a new tundra.

as everyone said..cash in hand and make sure you count it first!

with 30k you could buy a street 4runner and an offroad 4runner..and have some extra cash to mod them both!
