Gulf States Alarm???????

Gulf States Alarm???????

my 98 4runner has a optional?? i guess, gulf states alarm. is there any way to disconnect or turn off and the truck still run. b/c you cannot start after battery is disconnected with out resetting the alarm. i dont use the alarm. any info on this "gulf states" alarm would be great thanks

is it just an aftermarket alarm? if so, find the starter disable relay, take it out and reconnect the factory wires which were to cut to install it.

should look something like this and be tied into one of the thick wires coming down from the ignition switch


this is how it'll be wired, just reconnect the factory wires

All i know about this so called gulf states, is that they put a BS 1500 dollar markup on the toyotas here at the dealerships in texas/ gulf states.
thus being the reason why im not driving a new Tacoma.

Im sure theres a way, someone else will prolly chime in.

Is this the rs3000 alarm. I cant imagine a dealer installing an aftermarket alarm when there is a perfectly good factory accesory available. Look under the driver seat and see if an electonic box is zip tied down there.
