Yeah, I felt how thick that sheet was and I thought maybe not.

No, these are latched on both sides too.
If you're interested the Crossroads gun show comes out to Del Mar every 2-3 months or so and there are always people selling ammo cans. Some of them are cleaned up really nice but you definitely will paying more for it.
