Talking Got it up.

I finally installed my 2" Performance Accessories body lift. It took me over 12 hours to install it mostly by myself (Not bad for a first timer ). The install was easy it just took alot of time. Welding the shifter extension and putting the steering extension on are the most difficult parts. MAKE SURE THE SHIFTER EXTENSION IS WELDED REALLY WELL. I broke mine on the highway the day after installing it, shifting with a 2" stubb out of the trany is quite a trick. enough blabbing here's pics:
Before:

After:

The only problem is the inner shifter boot is too stiff and pushes my shifter out of 2nd and 4th gear, any way to fix this?

Now I need new rubbers

I heard that on two inch body lifts being installed on rigs with automatics you dont need a shifter extension if you go with a two inch or smaller. I was looking at a three inch but now think thats to big and looks poor.

Dude, You've got 4" already. When I'm done lifting (downeys, Body lift, Coil spacers & HD torsion bars) I'll have about 3.5 - 4" total.

NOTE: We will not sell body lift kits to any customer who is going to or has installed any suspension lift kit. The manufacture does not recommend its product to be used with a suspension lift.
That is from 4wheel parts.com, where I bought my lift. and in the instructions is states that they dont recommend a body lift combined w/ a suspension lift... but hey who cares what they think.

I was going to do a three inch body lift and two inch downey lift on top of my already four inch suspension lift and have seen the light. LOL! I dont want to see my rig upside down in a canyon so Im going with a two inch body and calling it good at six inches. I was going to have nine inches of lift before. Thats BIG!

6" is still way higher than I want to get. I want to get mine about 4" max. 4Runners dont have a very wide wheel base (compared to other vehicles) so tipping is easier, and that's one of the last things I want to happen.

body lift and arb?

2" body lift + ARB= 2" gap between body and bumper? because I am about to do a 2" lift and have a ARB whinch bar I can live with the gap until I get brackets fabricated.

Your very correct about there tipping habits but I choose to ignore that fact. I have 12 inch wide wheels sitting on 35 inch tires. Im stable!
