speaking of lateral traction...I have 35" X-terrains on my 86 and lateral traction isnt all that great with them. Very similiar tread design compared to the Yok. MT+ also. The rear of my truck tends to slide laterally fairly easily, especially with the rear locker on climbs.

my friend with MTRs doesnt experience this problem at all really...so I will be interested to see the difference when I get new tires...MTRs or Creepy Crawlers.

as for the MT+...nice tires...how is the tread compound? soft like an mtr??

You should rotate your tires by 5k anyway and I do mine every 4000 miles just to be safe.

The MudGrappler maybe but the AT comes in most light truck sizes including stock 4Runner size.

Not too bad. I think they might be slightly louder than the MT/R's I had. But they aren't half as loud as my buddie's Kumho's. Those have a droning rhythm sound to them on the highway.

So when you gonna give us a wheeling review of the tires? j/k Take your time. Tires look sweet. How about a shot of your rig from the front, that way we can see what it will look like to the ricers that you pull up behind at a red light.

Thanks! I'll definitely get that picture. I hope to get off the pavement soon - maybe this weekend.

Sweet. I'm sure that they will be better than the old all-terrains.

That looks really nice. How do your CV's hold up at those angles?

CV's are holding up. I had to replace the driver side half shaft only because I didn't do a very good job at replacing a torn outerboard boot. The next thing I need to do is setup some limiting straps for the front end. I'm running those top- out spacers and there seems to be too much down travel for that aftermarket(NAPA) half shaft. The CV joint(s) on that side, binds up when the suspension is at full droop.
Apparently Steve Schaefer sells a part for the upper attachment of a limit strap assembly.

He also has a list of the other parts you will need along with the limit strap mount he fabs. Basically the mount you mentioned, 10" limit straps, some washers from ACE, a longer Toyota bolt for the lower shock mount and the Kartek limit strap clevis.

Thanks Lee.

I'll have to take a ride in my cousins Montero to really hear the difference. He's running the MT/R's I sold him last year.

BTW, I drove the 4Runner in the rain today. The jury is still out on the wet traction. I think they are as good as a Mud Terrain is going to be but I'm a little concerned about lateral traction.

I purposely got on the gas a little on a curved on-ramp and the ass end broke loose more easily than expected. Also I turned 90 degrees off of a busy road at a good clip and I kinda felt the front tires not immediately follow the directon in which they were turned. Stopping and going was impressive though. Much better than the AT's they replaced.

Still have yet to get them aired down and in the dirt. Stay tuned....
