Some of you may recall my $1200 nightmare here

Well, good news. The dealer completed the following:

Full clutch job (sure enough, it was worn down to the rivets)

Head gasket recall (found a coolant line missing a hose clamp on the back of the engine also)

Rear coil spring recall (now I have new ones)

Timing belt replaced

Drive belts replaced

Parts, labor, tax came out to $996.

The water pump was fine (they said it also appeared to have been replaced fairly recently).

I feel I made out pretty well. The 4Runner drives so much better!

PS: I now recommend Tempe Toyota for service work. They did a good job and treated me well.
