Got my new MT's and Rockcrawlers!!!

Well, they showed up via fed-ex freight today on a pallet- $1050.00, mounted, balanced, and free shipping (I just ordered them on Saturday).

They are: BFG MT KM's, 285/75/16, mounted on Tech1 rockcrawler 16X8 rims, with 4 inch backspacing, 6 by 5.5" lug pattern.

Yes, rubbing may be an issue with these tires, primarily where the wheel well/mudflap is on the front end. I currently have 3 inches of suspension lift, and may consider a 1 inch body lift depending on how these behave offroad. But I'll tell you one thing, I love the new look, it looks pretty bad a*s now.

Only one problem- I asked for the black side to be mounted out, and they sent me white lettering out. I don't mind it too much (its how the previous tires were mounted), but its more the principle of the fact that they (4wheelparts) screwed up my order. I'm hoping to get refunded the cost of having to remount them the other way around (I'd probably just pocket the money). I ordered over the net, and the order clearly says that the black should be out. Oh well!

AWESOME!! I'm sold on rockcrawlers now.

Hey if you get a chance, could you snap one more pic? I'm trying to get a good idea on how far the wheels stick out from the fender wells. I thought the front shot would do it, but I'm just not sure if the bumper is hiding any of it... So maybe a shot from the back would do it?

As far as rubbing goes... you may catch the inner edge of your mudflap from time to time. I pulled my flaps off so that I could trim them; I think cutting them back a bit would clear it up, I just haven't got around to doing it yet!

Perfect, thanks! Its just good to know, because in PA you have to get an annual vehicle inspection, and they won't inspect it if the tires are outside of the wheel wells. So its either put on flares, or a 2rnd set of street rims for inspection time.

Of course, this is irrelevant unless I actually move back there!

Are those rims all black, or do they have the red and/or blue stripe around the edge?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Cebby, they're entirely black. I think both the American Racing and Allied black steel rims have colored strips around the outside edge. I like the plain black.

I should mention, they also came with a chrome center cap, but they're HUGE! they stick out a good 5-6" from the center of the rim, so I didn't bother putting them on.

Yeah, it was a good chunk of change, but works out to about what I would have paid locally. MT's were running close to 200 bucks/tire (including mounting), and the rockcrawlers are 60 dollars/rim. The idea is to keep my stock rims and throw them on for longer trips (I'm heading up to a Alaska for a 3000+ mile road trip). This will hopefully extend the life of the tires, so I won't be spending that type of coin again for a while!

Very very sweet. I am curious how much more steel rims weigh than the stock alloys. Anybody know?

Again, that looks sweet.

Yeah, I kind of like the no-stripe look of my rims. I may paint the center of the hubs to match the rims, or try to find some smaller center caps. Man, I felt totally bada** driving to work today. It does give the vehicle a different ride too- I felt sort of scared having to stop fast, and I can only imagine what they'll be like on wet pavement. I'm planning on getting them siped over at Les Schwabs.
