Glovebox adjustment

Hello,

THis is probably a real stupid question...but the glovebox door on my 2000 4runner is a little loose. The door closes but there is quite a bit of movement when u press on the door and it doesn't rest snugly against the dash.

Is there any way to adjust for this?
thank you,
Jon

just go underneath and tighten the two nuts holding it on...
for reference check out BobSR5's tech section writeup on cleaning the fan blades. There are always great visuals in his writeups and he has one for the glovebox

Well, actually took the whole glovebox out..looked for any adjustment and there does not appear to be any screw that can be adjusted! Also checked out the webpage BobSR5 but it didn't have any additional info. Looks to me like it can't be adjusted.

any thoughts...thanks,Jon

See if you can adjust the u-peice that the latch attaches to. Sometimes you can move it around to make a snugger fit

Yes..tried that too. Looks like the latch is just a u-piece that is screwed into the dash at a single point. Doesn't look like there's any adjustment or screw adjustment. Maybe i could try to bend the u-piece a little for a more secure fit but not sure if that will work.
thanks.
