That is pretty normal for this time of year.

Them you're doing REALLY well - I'd be happy to trade with you! (15mpg)

Show Off!!!!! j/k I can't get more than 16 mpg when driving all highway and anywhere between 13-15 on mostly street driving. These numbers are before I add 10% based on the upsizing of the rims and tires. This also includes a 3" lift.

I spent almost $300 on gas last month and I only live 5 miles from work. Of course, this included a bunch of non-work driving but still...

I went from a stock 225/65/15 to a 265/75/16. When I plug these numbers into the calculator on 4crawler's site, I get an 11% difference.

Oh WOW... yeah, you had WAY small tires on it. I thought you had started from 255/70's or so... n/m!

That is big.....going from a stock 15" (26.5") tire to a 31.5" oversize is a HUGE change.
I come out with more like 19.4 % change in tire size (use circumference as a guide).

P265/70R16 is a stock 16" tire.

My bad. I meant a 22/75/15 to 265/75/16, actually a 28" tire to a 32" tire.

You're right......I should have caught that the stock 15" tire was a P225/75R 15 not a P225/65R 15

So it should come out to close to 12 % difference (actual is 11.9 %).

Checked the speedo today w/ a buddy on the freeway and it's about 10% off. When I was going 50, he was going 55. When I was at 55, he was at 61 and when I was at 60, he was at 66. Now we both have manual speedos so give or take 1 mph. It's good to finally know though.

Did you regear or does it lack a bit on the acceleration and passing power?

I've been debating the regear thing b/c if something's not broke, don't fix it. I'd love to get the additional power but am just wondering if taking my 3rd member out and putting in new gears may cause future problems. I'm just worried about the unforseen.

I'd love the s/c but cost is a big factor for why I haven't done it yet. I'm pretty sure that a big bonus from work will entice me to get s/c but I won't count my chickens until they're hatched.

Passing power is the main reason that I want more power. I can go 90 mph on flat surfaces (that's really almost 100 mph) and can regularly go 70, which is almost 80. This is sufficent power for straight driving. When I have to pass someone, the truck does struggle but taking it out of OD has solved most of my issues. I just have to either accept it's a truck and not a car or go balls out. If it's not a s/c, I'm thinking about a used IS300 and throwing on a turbo.
