Gear Shift Help

Hi All - I pulled the my shifter off it's post and I'm unable to put it back on where I can smoothly push the top button down. I think when I pulled it off, I twisted it a bit and I'm not sure which way the "white boot" looking thing should face. Should the "toe" of the "boot" face the dash? Kicking myself for pulling it off in the first place and any help in getting it seated properly is appreciated.

Disregard. The toe end of the boot should face the back of the truck. Back on and shifting.....thankfully.
