Gas fumes inside 2000 4runner

Guys, ive been noticing especially after fillups a greater than normal existance of gas fumes inside the cab of my 4runner, i know some can get in on fueling up etc. but this is way too much happens every fill up, but also i can smell fumes really any time i walk around the truck faintly. Never had this happen with any other vehicle ive had, i was wondering if there was some kind of vent on the tank that had a hose or something that might be broken allowing fumes to enter the cabin? Or, i noticed mine has what seems to be an aftermarket gas cap that says "Vaccum Only" which leaves me to believe its not a venting cap? Could that be the problem ?

Have you looked for leaks in the filler neck or vent hose?
Cheap gas cap would do it too.

I checked aroudn the filler neck and hose following it to the tank and everything looks dry, do you know where the vent hose is located ?

I've got the same issue at the moment. Do a search for "fuel smell" or "gas smell" and you'll turn up a few things under the hood like the charcoal canister or the fuel pulsation damper.

I just picked up my rig and have yet to find the source of the smell/leak but you should NOT be driving if you can smell fuel. If/when it ignites you can imagine the consequences... not work the risk.
