Funny noise from dashboard.
Recently bought an '02 SR5 4WD. Was having problems with the AC not being very cold so I took it back to the dealer who claimed it was "blowing at a cold 38 degrees." When I left, it was in fact colder but soon began blowing warm again. Yes I had the AC button on and yes I had the recirculation on too. Before I could get back to the dealer, I was sitting in the carport in idle with the air off and noticed a noise inside the dash. Sounded like something shifting behind the AC. I thought, there is the problem, so went back to the dealer and the service guy heard the sound but when I picked it up all he did was take out 15 lbs of refrigerant. No action to fix the noise. Since then I have heard the noise and can re-create it by turning the temp knob from cool to warm. You can hear something shift inside the dash whenever you do this. I suppose this is normal however my truck inadvertantly shifts on its own when the air is off. Anyone know about this/ heard of this in other 4Runners??
