Full bowl of repairs with some deckplate on top!
Saturday was a crazy day!
It all started with a CRAZY quote from an auto place to do an axle seal (over $800). So I decided to pretend I was a mechanic and do it myself.
11 AM: TB, MAF, and IAC cleaning. That was all easy exept getting the two lines off the bottom of the TB ( there is not much room to work under there)
1 PM: pack for race before my dad left with our rig.
2 PM: Deckplate in, Running boards off, mudflap on ( not plural, they sent me a driver rear instead of front)
4 PM: Axle out, time for new seal!......uuuuggrrrrhhh......2 broken seals later I FINALLY got it in ( I think ). The bad part is I broke the two napa seals, and got the toyota one right ( unhappy99 says the napas are better)
6 PM: getting dark, finally putting the brakes back together, this is where the frustration begins! I couldn't get the drum back over the shoes. They weren't even new shoes, becuase I had never worked on drums before I left them alone becaues I didn't want to leave the truck out of commission ( racing sunday AM remember)
12 AM: FINALLY and with the help of my brothers here on yotatech, I discovered how to adjust the drums in, and stayed up until 1 getting her back together and bleeding the brakes.
5 AM: OFF TO THE RACES. Running 4th in AA/PRO with a rear flat until it finally came off the rim. For any of you that follow motorcycles, it was a harescramble race, and I was riding our old cr500 just for the thrill of all that HP. Here are the pics.
trying to haul in a straight line with a rear flat is hard to do!

The 500 only does about 90, this is around 75.

The aftermath:

yeah those drums need adjusting....you will have to take them off again in a bout a week or whenever you get the time to see if it is still leaking gear oil, if so, you'll have to take your axle assembly back out and to a machine shop to have them press on a new wheel bearing.....also remember to freeze your axle seals so they shrink and fit nicely back into the axle
