Well I have friends who have done the front windshield tint and what I can tell you is avoid it. If you tint the whole windshield your going to have major problems with vision, tuning at night is going to be a big pain. My friend has 50% on his front windshield and we cant see anything after sun down.

I'm wondering and considering this also - but just a strip across the top. For the same reasons as 94Runner mentions; sun coming straight at you or glancing off other cars. That's just a royal pain sometimes, sunglasses or not.

Depending on where you live and how anal the highway patrol is, even the tint strip at the top can get you pulled over. That being said, I had limo on the top portion of my old Sierra and it helped a lot for daytime driving and didn't hurt at night. I can def see where the entire front WS tinted would be a bad idea for evening and night.

Go with a thin strip at the top as dark as you like. Looks cool from the outside and is functional at the same time.

BTW, I had a fix or repair order for my side windows and windshield but I sold it (the Sierra) instead.

Man do the strip, but bring it! Ok I know it not "legal" but this is Arizona so they know it's hot. Been through drunk driving checkpoints and never had any trouble. Only tint is the strip.

Thats a fat strip. Most cops don't care, it's just the bored HWP guys to watch out for.

Do any of you wear polarized glasses or sunglasses? If so, take this into consideration when tinting. If you have ever looked through tinted windows with polarized lenses you will know exactly what I mean. It gives everything kind of a rainbow effect.

Must be an east coast thing or something. Never even heard of this before. It seems really stupid, but, whatever floats your boat. Is it just for looks or what the hell would you need tint on your windshield if you've already got sunglasses and sun-visors?

I'd have to definitly be leaning way over or skooch way down in my seat to see out. I think the standard strip that's already on the glass is only 3 inches.

i know some of you might think tinting the whole windshield is stupid, and good for you, everyone has an opinion. i personally live in florida where the sun is always just beating down on you so i went with 5% over everything with my front windshield tinted in 30% (llumar). besides the very real benefit of privacy, it keeps my truck cooler and almost completely eliminates glare. i also have polarized sunglasses, but dont wear them in the truck very often. when people get in my truck they cant tell the front windshield is even tinted sometimes.
