front spool locker 3rd gen problems??

im in the process of 5.29s/35s Detroit rear. i want to lock the front,

was thinking about Lincoln locking the front. but im worried about the extra spinning driveshaft causing the 4runner to pull to to the passenger side.

spool and lockrited will do the same thing. does anyone have ether that can share there experience?

not really worried about braking anything since i mostly snow wheel. and i will be wiring the add to a switch in the cabin. has any one done this with a spool?

thanks for the help

Can you explain to me how a spool and a lockrite will do the same thing and what's this extra spinning driveshaft you speak of? You mean the locked side of the ADD and by driveshaft do you mean axle shaft? Regardless if your locked up front or not 1 shaft spins permanently unless you have manual hubs.

I could be completely off base though as I don't know much about the 3rd gens and up. But I believe the concept is the same.

I hope this truck isn't gonna see pavement wet/dry/snow or otherwise with a front locker. Your gonna loose alot of turning ability with a front locker.

the spider gears just spin when its open. locked (spooled or lockrite) the ring and pinion and drive shaft spins.

(no manual hubs)

i dont plan on doing any turning at all on pavement with the ADD locked

im mostly worried about MPG and power and pulling to the side

It's not gonna pull when you're in 2WD.

Seems like it would still be a good idea to convert a rig like this to manual hubs....

For the second time, no it won't pull and no it doesn't pull.

I was actually out on the trail today. From one trail to the next there was a couple miles of pavement between the end of one trail to the next. All I did was take it out of 4WD (hubs still locked) and put it into 2WD. It drove just like normal.

You'll be fine.
