Howdy guys,

Ever since I took ownership of my T4R, there has been an annoying CLICK each time I put the clutch in, or shifted my weight around on the seat.

Well...I found the reason for the clicking, and it wasn't quite what I was expecting..

How can I go about fixing this? I'm thinking the only way is to make a plate with a nut welded to it, that will take the place of the rusted area.

Anyone else have any bright ideas??

 

good job with the picture, not many people use scale reference. as for your problem, i have the same thing on my front left. what i plan on doing is getting a 1" square of sheet metal, then grinding it flush with the existing floorboard. yeah the welded nut would be ideal. just make sure you're treating your bare metal afterwards so you're not repeating history soon

 

Yep, drivers seat, left front is the rusted one...strange no signs of rust anywhere near the mount or under the body, just on that one spot.

Sounds like I'm on the right track then...only if I had a welding setup!

 

if you get everything prepped (i.e. pulling the carpet back, supplying the tools, sanding the floor) and take it to a local shop they should to the welding for cheap. then more than likely you can do the grinding at your place
