front breaks

last summer I had my front break pads replaced, and after that in cold weather they'd squeel if used till I'd driven it a while. now, whenever I start out for the first 2 miles they do this when applying just a little break.
I jacked up the front and pushed on the wheels to see how far they'd turn after I let go, and they hardly went more than a full rotation.

question is, is there any way to adjust the front breaks so they aren't so tight? or do I need to have the pads replaced with oem ones? I believe the place that put them on used carquest parts and unfortunately they went out of business a couple months after I had a lot of work done there,.

Chances are they used a cheap pad, so I think your best bet would be to just replace them with some OEM or quality aftermarket ones.

You could also try putting some of that anti-squeal stuff in there, but you may as well replace the pads while you're down there IMHO. Chalk it up to bad experience....

It's a grease they put in under the pads. There are aerosol sprays you can spray in there after installation but they never work for very long...Kragen...Auto Zone...Pep boys all carry it.

Its comes in a little squeeze out packet thingy, or atleast the stuff that I have used before. Its like a thick lube, spread it on the pad before installing it.

I would rather have BRAKES up front, BREAKS are something I try to avoid

I use CRC Disc Brake Quiet on mine, never have had any squeaking in 20+ years using it.
