Flashlight mount

You know that flashlight mod people are doing by mounting the light on the floor in front of the seat. I would like to do that but dont know what to use to secure the flashlight. Actually I do know what I want Ive seen it befor in other threads but noone mentioned where they got the parts from. Anyone know.

I haven't seen any of the installs here on YT that you're talking about.

I mounted a Streamlight piggyback fastcharger right in front of the drivers seat. I made a plate that would screw into the floor using sheetmetal screws. Then I installed two aircraft style nutplates onto the mounting plate, and just put two screws into the Streamlight charger holes, and into my homemade mounting plate. I hardwired the charger into the truck. Convenient as heck and looks almost factory.

Pretty much any hardware store sells mounting kits for Maglites, check the flashlight dept. If you are using a different brand, I don't know about fit.

Maglite offered a kit that came with the light, the mount, and mounting hardware at one time. I picked one up a Sam's Club a few years ago.

Any of you guys using Maglights - check out a Streamlight Stinger. I threw away all my Maglights after I got a Stinger! Seriously!

I highly agreee. I bought one off the Snap On truck when I was working for GM. It was very small and very bright. Came with both the wall charger and car charger.

MAG light mounts are generally sold on the same isle as the maglights. I have seen them everywhere. I'm looking forward to the new LED maglights that are coming out.

Some people use Quick Fist rubber clamps, which work out really well. Look here.

P1Michaud just installed his using Quick Fists, and it looks pretty good. Look them up on the net or PM him to find out where he got them.

Stingers are great flashlights. Used mine for years evryday when I was a mechanic. I converted my Stinger to 6v now.

Yup Maglites suck when they're stock. Here's just a few of my modded Maglights.

Luxeon

HID

I picked up my MagLite mounting kit from Ace Hardware (searched EVERYWHERE!). Plan to install it whenever I get a moment to make a clean install...
