First Real Mod!! Aisin Hubs !

After a long 6 weeks of owning my runner and not doing any mods I finally installed the aisins I got from toyota parts dude. They were in great shape when I got them, but I pulled them apart just to see how they worked anyways. Cleaned them up, greased 'em and waited for my gaskets. Got those today. Pulled the ADD hub. Those cone washers leaped off like dogs on fire Of course, I've been blasting the open hub for the past week with WD40. Everything went pretty smooth, followed a few of the tech articles available and the PDF file from Cory's site. I'm pretty much a non-wrencher, but this mod went great...no bashed knuckles even!

Just as everyone who's done this mod says the same thing: Feels great! Smoother steering, more roll, less resistance. Gotta check the mileage next. If you've got ADD and you're thinking about hubs, get the aisins from toyota parts dude.

No pics, there's plenty of write ups out there that look way better than how mine would.

toyota parts dude

toyota parts dude is a member of the forum. His name is Jason and you can reach him at CAMOTOY@prodigy.net.
He gets his hands on old toyotas, strips 'em and sells the good stuff, both here and on ebay.
good guy, fair, fast. Lots of happy customers in this group

Congratulations on your first mod! I'm 110% positive this mod will not be the last and as a matter of fact, this is just the beginning. Just like you I started with modifying the ADD to Aisin manual locking hubs and next time you know my wallet is getting thinner and thinner but my rig is transforming into a real off-road machine.

Ahhh I got bit by this mod fever.

My Aisins are in the post as we speak. I found TPD shipping costs to here in the UK very reasonable

Cant wait to get em/fit em

Thanks TPD!
