First modifications completed (pics)

I sold my '94 pickup and I am starting all over again with this 2000 4Runner. So far I fixed a broken power antenna, replaced all the fluids with synthetic, added a Yakima roof rack and detailed the inside and out. Today was the first time the drill bit met the 4Runner and boy did it feel good.

aka "deckplate mod"

the truck:

I will be doing some electrical modifications in the coming months including footwell lighting, exterior lighting, a distribution block to feed electrical accessories, a power inverter and a couple of other things. The fun stuff will come next spring--rock sliders and most likely a Performance Products lift with Bilstein shocks. Luckily this one already has the e-locker.

Tomorrow I am picking up a set of Limited 5-spoke alloys. Supra fever is over for a bit; now it's time for the 4Runner to have some fun...

Very clean install

Where do you plan to put the Aux fuse box? I haven't found a spot I like yet

Your whole engine looks awesome too

p.s.- If you ever upgrade to a TJM bumper i would like to buy your front bumper. Thanks.

Thanks for all of the complements, I am really excited about modding another vehicle. It will carry a similar theme as my last truck--that is, increase its offroad capability while keeping it quiet and comfortable to drive on long road trips.

Erich,
I think I'm going to follow Bob_98SR5's exactly as written here: http://www.4runners.org/articles/dist/ He did a great job on the write-up and having the distribution box in the center of the vehicle makes a lot of sense.

The screen should help keep small animals out of my engine.

Dibble--also a nice mounting location. I've got a clutch master cylinder in the way though. 2000--last year of the 5-speed!

Now you know why I hesitated on your x-cab! I'm loving the white of the 4Runner as much as you are.

LOL...believe it or not I was standing at BestBuy trying to decide between the black and the white IPOD. The black was so awesome looking, then I had visions of having to detail it every month...I got white.

Door screen? Come on, I'm not that redneck, it's window screen!

Really nice work. Impresive.
Thanks!

Too funny, Ken! I don't blame ya, though... Glad to be rid of the black Taco.
