For those that have done a HID retrofit youve needed a projector so the light doesnt go EVERYWHERE..anyways with my usual parts browsing on ebay i came across these

anyways i was wondering if it would be possible to use these and throw in an HID bulb and hook up ballasts and all of that stuff?

maybe u can try a d2r style h4 hid with that conversion, looks like it still uses those reflectors. d2r are made for reflectors and have less glare than a d2s (for projectors) hid bulb would. not sure it would make alot of difference tho...

 

um.......you'd need proper shrouds to cover sides for that Ebay one....From what I've read from HIDFORUMS.com, halogen projectors will not work.....they work but a but load of glare. IMH only way to go is with OEM projectors that are meant to have HIDs. I've got the H4 casper shield because I didnt want to hack my OEM headlights. I still get decent light pattern but glare is still there(I have not had a single car flash me). Check my webshot account for beam patterns

 

yea it does look like it will glare, maybe u should get h4 conversions and buy oem projectors from hidtech.com and make something outta that. the h4 conversions have a plastic back so it will be easy to cut.

 

HIDs would double the value of a 1st gen.

 

definately check out www.hidforum.com and do some reading You will see why this wont be a good idea
