Finally "Poor Man's" 4runner Antenna Mod. with pics.

Here it is fellas finally downloaded the pics. to my tightwad tacoma wannabee 4runner antenna mod.

The steps to install is just like bobs98sr5 tacoma antenna mod. but with the autozone parts. Here's bob's link: http://www.4runners.org/articles/whip/

Just say no to stealerships.

Autozone: antenna assembly AW-UT91 narrow antenna $6.99 includes stainless antenna whip.

rubber antenna AW-RM1R rubber antenna $3.99

Tell me what ya think.

Looks good. I like the rubber antennae but it looks a little short. It might look better with a pic of your entire runner to get a better perspective.

I like it and appreciate the thriftiness compared to Yota pricing

But can you tell us more? I can see the photos but not sure I am fully appreciating it all.

Does that base rubber gasket actually fit our fender angle to seal properly? You simply unscrewed the stainless whip that came with it and screwed on the rubber ducky one?

ha! I see now it's a 6 year old thread... great ideas never die and I found this searching Google easier than through the Forum

yah, tell us more. i have been hating my power one. Its bent and totally unsquare to the truck. bugs the daylights out of me. plus when I channel surf, the going up and down drives me nuts. thanks for the photos!

Um, it looks like a $15 mod. The Toyota OEM parts look, well, OEM.

It's a good option if you're looking to save money, but it looks pretty ghetto if you ask me.
