those are bushwacker extend-a-fenders painted to match his factory body color.

 

Yeah Ryan's right. Those are the Bushwackers. You will need to buy the gasket material that goes between them and the body. I did what Jalaber did and went to my Toyota dealership and purchased the Gasket material off the right rear of the 2000 TRD Tacomas part #75696-35020. Get about 5 of those and it should be plenty to cut and match to all of the flare parts. PM me if you have anymore questions.

 

I never would have thought those were aftermarket,I thought they were stock. I might look into those.

Just curious, what about OEm 98' SR5 flares with mud gaurd extension. Also how hard are they to install

 

Installation isn't too bad but they require a lot of bolts and brackets, plus if you buy them form Toyota they are probably gonna be extremely expensive. Aftermarket is the way to go. Same thing at a cheaper price.

 

do any of you know any aftermarket flares that look like the SR5 flares. I dont want big buckly ones that most aftermarket flares are.

Yep both of them do. Do some research on the internet and you'll be amazed with all the options you have.

 

they look great on the truck, but when you hold these things in your hands after paying the bill, you get the biggest feeling of being ripped off that you will ever experience in your lifetime. very flimsy plastic material.

Mine felt pretty sturdy to me. They don't feel any weaker than any other flares i've looked at. They actually work better being flimsy because they won't crack as easy when rubbed up against something. As i recall someone else on the board has these flares and rubbed them up against a tree and they took it without breaking or cracking. How did you draw this conclusion? Do you have these flares?
