Where can I possibly find a "faster" turn-signal flasher for my '88PU? I'd like to have them flash at a faster rate when I put my turn signals on.

Is it possible to modify the stock flasher for a faster speed rate? Or, is there another flasher from another make that will work in a Toyota?

i know ricers have a device that does this... migth want to check into those.. i beleive the local autoparts stores with the ricer section carries them

 

Please refrain yourself from getting one but all you need is a potentiometer sp? from radioshack

 

Do they only click slow when you are at idel/stop ? Or all the time, (at speed)?

Well, I actually prefer a turn-signal rate that's in between the slow stock speed and the fast "ricer style" speed setups. Most of the ricer parts at the local auto parts stores around here, like Pep Boys, seem to be for Honduh's mostly. lol!

That potentiometer from Radio Shack sounds exactly what I need. That way I can dial it in to the speed I want, not too fast and not too slow. Do I have to disassemble the stock flasher unit to hook this up? Or, do just splice it inline to the turn-signals to control the flasher speed? Just wondering.

My turn-signals are slow all the time. Mid '80's Cadillac kind of slow. lol! However, sometimes during a cold morning when I'm idling shortly after startup, they get reaaally slow and then they get stuck in the on position. If I giggle the turn-signal lever a little bit, then they begin to operate again.

I'm thinking it's the grease I used in the turn-signal switch inside the steering column the last time I was in there. I used Vaseline on the contacts. I wonder if a lithium based white grease would've been better. The Vaseline likes to melt off the contacts when exposed to hot temps inside the cab like in the summertime.
