fabbed cat

I bought this replacement downpipe to cat that is about 6 inches too long. I have 2 cats under there. Basically what I was wondering was if I could use the new part and cut out the old one and fab a pipe to go from the new cat to the muffler. Or is it imperative that I have 2 cats because of a check engine light or whatever.

Thoughts?

You better keep the 2 cats, Toyota ECUs are very sensitive to cats being up to spec and will throw fits (including worse MPG) if there the cat function isn't good enough. A CEL thrown because of it will be a P0420.

I don't understand what you're doing, but yes custom exhaust pipes can be fabbed up. Just cut off the flanges and have new pipe bent and welded into place. Some states may throw a fit about it though.

Think I could use one of these bad boys? With the Single cat I already have with the new downpipe and muffler.
