I've never looked under a 3.0, but I wonder why he couldn't do it.....I kinda don't want a muffler after having straight pipe for almost a year....i think. Its not loud and annoying on the highway like alot of performance mufflers. The only time I make alot of noise is on accel. A little when coasting or downshifting. Have you checked into a glasspack muffler? they're pretty cheap.

I put a Flowmaster Delta 40 on my 95 3.0....

Sounds a whole lot better, has a nice deep rumble to it..

I got mine at the clearance rack at Summit....Stainless steel, for 49.99 shipped!!!!!

I just couldn't pass that up.....

The dynomax lit isn't very loud. It is only slightly louder than stock and there are fitment issues with the hangers

Hey CraZyRunner;

I'm running a 14" Stainless Magnaflow!! And it sounds really throaty!!
IMO The Magnaflow mufflers are a better preforming muffler for the Toyota motors,
Cause they don't use baffles!! Straight through design!!! Good luck!!

I went with the Borla cat-back system from Perf. Prod. and it works great, not too loud. If you want a lot of volume, go with a cherry bomb, it'll get the job done...

These are pretty loud almost to loud for my taste. Here is a vid,sound clip of mine with headers and 2.5 pipes. I'm thinking of the 24" magnaflow's but I'm having fun with these for now.

EXH 3.4 in 95Runner

whatever you go with, make sure it will pass state inspection if...
1) WA has laws about muffler noise (i don't know, do they? they do here in ME)
2) it's your daily driver
