Hey I think I have a exhaust leak where the down pipe off the header connects to the exhaust pipe in front of the o2 sensor and cat. Well if I tap on the gas and right after that I hit the brakes you can hear pressure releasing and my idle goes down this only happens if I hit the gas right before I hit the brakes. And the sound it makes is the same sound when I turn my truck off and/or when I hit the gas (not hard but average). Could this effect the brake or is there more than a leak? I know there is a leak because when I get under the truck I cam barely hear it and there is hot air coming out (not much but if I put my hands up to the leak I can fell it). Its not a vacuum leak and my idle is down. My truck is in my sig, also I gave it a tune up but didnt get the chance to put the fuel filter in yet. Also what or how is a good way to fix a exhaust leak?

yes it could be related... the brakes work of engine vacuum and the fact there is an exhuast leak can cuase a vacuum deficiency

depends where and why its leaking... you must find that first... also what about your idle speed and timing?

 

Well the leak is where the down pipe connects to the exhaust, its not welded the guy that had it before looks like he put or wraped sheet metal where those two pipes connect and used two exhaust clamps to keep it on. My idle is low, and I have to check my timing.
