exhaust leak
I'm pretty sure I have an exhaust leak. I've done some searching and found that the propane smell when I start up my car an exhasut leak. Is there a way I can find the location of the leak myself or should/do I have to take it in to a mechanic? Hopefully it's from the cat back that way I have an excuse to buy an after market system.

Why are you thinking you have an exhaust leak?
You can usually hear it pretty loud. Most of the time its coming from the mainfold.
Turn your truck on and listen for any leaks along the exhaust. Put your hand near any gaskets/connections of piping and you can feel exhaust leaking out.

If it is an exhaust leak, you may be able to see and feel it.
See:
When my engine is still cold, I can see where the smoke (white) is coming from.
I know I have a pin hole leak in my muffler right now...
Feel:
I can feel the warm (hot) air coming out of the hole.
As for smell, If you are getting smell in the car, you had better get is checked out soon. CO2 poisioning is not to be taken lightly!
good luck
tdk.

Thank. It only happens when I first start it. When the engine is cold. There is also some white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. I'll check tomorrow morning to see if I can hear or feel the leak along the exhaust line.
