everything is gone...

i lost my 1995 4Runner due to a fire yesterday that is still unknown to why it even happened. I feel sick about it though, I will never get enough money from the insurance to rebuild a 4Runner like it. I have had it for just short of 5 years now, it just feels like someone died.
- CarDomain (before and after pictures)
- More photos of the actual fire damage
If anyone could give me any rough ideas of value to the lift, rims, tires, etc. to tell the insurance company, that would be wonderful. I basically have to figure out how much it would actually cost me to reproduce my 4runner again so they can take that into consideration instead of just giving me KBB on a stock 4Runner.

That sucks man. I'm sorry for your loss. Just be glad that you all are alright. You may not think so, but a vehicle can be rebuilt. Also be glad that it wasn't parked in your garage, where damage could have been much worse.
Where you driving at the time, or was it just sitting somewhere?

Wow I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. That was one of the best looking 4Runners we have on this site. And Nees is right your lucky it wasn't parked in your garage or anything like that. A guy down the street lost his house and his cars cause his Heep caught on fire in the garage.

Damn, sorry about your loss, it looks like it was a hella nice 'Runner.
The thing that I am most curious about is what caused the fire?
I'm sure that insight to that would be helpful to all here.
As for pricing it out; spend a little time calling around to the tire, rims and lift companies to get your pricing there is the best course and again, you have my condolences for your loss.

I don't know what is going to happen for the stuff that i don't have reciepts for, they can obviously see that it is there though.
Real sorry to hear about the bad luck. I will be happy to send you some Filthy Rich Clothing t-shirts. Let me know what size(s) you need

I think most do. Our van was broken into in Toronto at the skydome, and we filed a claim with our insurance company, and we got the money back. My sister's car was broken into a couple years ago, and they stole all the stereo stuff and her boyfriend's softball bag. They got the money for that too. Of course, you've got to pay the deductible first.

Damn -- very sad to hear about this. I travel frequently with my 4Runner packed with thousands of dollars worth of climbing/camping gear and a fire like happened to yours would be devastating. I can imagine how bleak the out look is right now, and I'm very sorry for your loss. That was a sweet looking rig -- I hope you get a fair settlement and can get a replacement that will help fill the void. If you're interested, I'm selling my 95 4Runner in the near future. PM me if you'd like details when the time comes to make another purchase.

That is just terrible, you can tell how hot the fire was from those pics. Melted tires & the bare metal interior!!! I think that the close eye you kept on your gauges probably helped get everyone out of the 4r ok, it would have been a lot worse if it had burst into flames while you were still driving it. Seems like the fire you describe would have to be from a leak or cut in a fuel line. As fast as that all happened I'm not sure an extinguisher would have saved it, but I'm going to put one in mine just in case.

I've seen some pretty big fires put out by fire extinguishers...as a good size one doesn't take any prisoners...especially in isolated areas like an engine bay.
