Someone informed me that rather than swapping the entire cab, I can cut the top and tail (partial cab + extended cab) and weld it into place on my current rolled Tacoma.

Any of you ever completed this? Can this be performed even if all pillars have been damaged?

i would imagine that just swapping the cab would be the easiest, least complicated thing to do.
you can bob it and add a trail bed while your at it too even add a 01+ front end. possibilities are endless.

Possibly, that's what I am here to find out. However, the guy who suggested the top and tail to me said its roughly a 1 day day vs. a 3-5 day job for swapping out the entire cab. Swapping the entire cab is going to require everything on the firewall, etc to be removed and reinstalled vs. a little cutting, welding and bondo.

Ummm. I think it's a bit more than a little......

Think about this... How well would a "welded" top hold up when you roll it again?? You were fortunate no one died this time. A cab swap wouldn't be that difficult. It would take some time tho...

I read your other thread about how this happened. I am glad no one was hurt.

So, have you definitely established that the frame and engine/drivetrain are fine? Sounds to me that would be first order. There definitely looks like a lot there to salvage (I dream about putting that engine into my FJ40) or work from.
