I have a 2002 4Runner and I'm trying to replace the battery. I bought one at costco but it says on there "Toyota-Vehicles esquipped with the ESP System: the battery phase of the ESP system cannot be made to operate with replacement batteries. We (toyota) suggest unplugging the electrolyte sensor and hooking the wire to the blue wire of the windshield washer pump." No one, not even a technician at the Toyota dealership could tell me what an ESP System was or how I should proceed with installing my new battery. So i was wondering how does that work, and does a 2002 4runner even have that system?
