Error Code Checking on 2nd gen....
Well I checked this am to see if my o2 sensor was working, and it is (yaaay) then I decided to check for engine codes.
The CEL just repeatedly flashes over and over indicating no codes, a good thing.....
But the O/D OFF light is giving me a '61', Six flashes in a row, a slight pause, one flash, then a looooong pause, after which it repeats. Why would the OD OFF light flash like that for code 61 when the CEL gives me no codes? Also there is no code 61 that I can find...what gives?

Update did some searching in my online TFS manuals....found out that the speed sensor wire is shorted or unplugged or the speed sensor is faulty....
Has anyone had this problem before? I found the speed sensor, and omg is it hard to get to even by toyota standards....
Any help?

Nope, the truck has no CEL during normal operation....
When I jump TE1 and E1, only the O/D OFF flashes out the 61.
When driving around when the tranny is cold it wont want to shift out of first, and every once in a blue moon will skip 2nd gear entirely.

Yeah your shift solenoid is on the way out. They aren't hard to change, just a bit pricey from the dealer. Alot of them have this trouble sooner or later. The good thing is that a good trans flush and a new solenoid can make a big difference.
