So which is it?????????
Some are saying the 95 and up Ring & Pinion for a Tacoma V6 is larger than the 4Runner's and others are saying their the same. Can someone give a 100% accurate answer to this? After comparing both the Tacoma and the 4Runner on www.drivetrainsuperstores.com both are shown as "8 inch gears.
Thanks

cmon, what kind of answer is that? stop padding your post count.
i believe that 4runners to '02 at least have a V6 rear third member, same style as pre '96 trucks and 4runners. tacomas definitely have a different third member, often called the 8.4 or T100 diff. the only exception there are TRD tacomas with the electric locker, which is a variant of the standard 8"

The rear diff of all 4Runners is 8", the year means squat. The rear diff of all 4wd non-Tacoma trucks is an 8", the year means squat. Tacomas get wierd; TRD models with the electric locker are 8", non-locked rears are 8.4"

that made me laugh
