EGT & A/F Gauges for tuning
I am getting prepared to get my 305cc injectors for my 2K S/C 4Runner (already installed SS FTC) and was thinking about the instrumentation I will need to tune it. I have read as much as I can find from others on the forum and wanted to get input regarding EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) and/or A/F (Air/Fuel) gauges specifically for tuning.
In most of the postings it seems people are using both, but since a lean condition would normally drive a greater exhaust temperature, do you really need both? It seems that most people have used both to "validate" the other readings (e.g. 1400deg exhaust with ~13.2 a/f ratio).
Thoughts?

Don't plan on using the A/F gauge to tune unless it's a wideband (like the FJO or Techedge -- mucho expensive tho). EGT can be used to tune but don't rely on it without a good wideband A/F gauge. Best bet is to go do all your tuning on a dyno with a A/F hookup.
