I just purchased what was a 22rte 86 pickup that now has a 22r in it. i am new to toyotas but have read about going from carb to efi but i am not sure when they switched to carb would they have had to change ecu, fuel pump, wires, etc? i want to swap a 22re back in, but am not sure what might have been ripped out or changed. thanks for all your help

oh yeah i was also told the rte had a stronger transmission or transfer case, is this true? anyway i can check what model they are?

 

well, if they put a 22r in it thers no longer an ECU...if you nwated to stick a 22re your gonna need all the efi stuff the intake stuff an ecu a wiringharness and much more stuff im sure im forgetting.
