ECT button to control foglight

I just bought a single hella 500 to mount on the back of a roof rack as a backup light. What I plan to do is make a little panel of switches to go in the opening under the cd player. I'm wondering if an ECT button could be used to turn the back light on and off (ie down=on, up off.) Does anyone see why this might not work? I just think it would be cool. (I like buttons)

Sure. Why not? It is a switch after all. Just need to do a little testing to find common, ground, normally-open and/or normally-closed contacts.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'll mess around with it when it gets warm outside.

If the button exists on your truck and you have an electrical diagram with wire color codes, it's often much easier to determine a switch's pin layout.
