The door sills were under water on the outside but no water came in. A tonne of it drained out of the body though from somewhere. I can't believe she didn't flop all the way over. would have been half submerged.

Anyone ever fabbed a cable shifter for the elocker? I know they sell one but by the time I pay for the canadian-us dollar and shipping and duty it will be over $400

^^ I agree. sounds like the e-locker motor/actuator assembly might be shot. might save some hassle to just find a new one.

Just an idea check out this article. I'm sure the actuator's are very similar from the 4runner and land cruisers.

I took off my locker motor for the tenth time on the weekend to try to get it working. I had been camping and almost didn't get up a steep rocky hillclimb and it totally pissed me off that i had a locker on this thing but couldn't use it. The funny thing is that when I took off the three bolts that hold it on and just held it against the axle, it would work perfectly.
But as soon as I bolted it on and took it for a drive, no dice. So I am going to take the motor houseing apart again and really lube the crap out of it and when I bolt it on I will not tighten it down super tiight and see if that works. I am also sliding the little fork gear thing over to the left just before it locks up before I put the actuator back on.

Its been over a year since this post, but I'm having the same problem. The light just flashes and it wont lock. I took the actuator off and it turns fine when its out. The gear moves easily when I move it with a screw driver. I locked it, pushed the button in and put it back together and it wouldn't unlock. So I took it back apart and unlocked it. I have no idea why its not working. It makes no sense

Any ideas??

So now it unlocks and locks when the actuator is loosened off at the top, but when I tighten it, it stops working. I can hear it try to go but it sounds tight, like its binding internally.

I have the bottom 2 bolts tight and the top one a little loose with some lock tight. It works, so that's how it stays.

Good enough!
