Dual Magna-Flow Exhaust on my 99 4runner (pic inside)
The guy said he could only run it because i had a 3" body. He might have been able to do it with a 2" body but dont take my word on that... When i took it to shops they said i couldnt but my buddy somehow pulled it off. anyways I thought i would post a pic because i dont see many 3rd gens with duals (that both work) iv heard of people running a dummy pipe or something but both of mine work fine.. I love the way it sounds also.

Sometimes bigger or higher flowing exhausts reduce mid range HP in NA engines as I've seen alot of that happen on the dyno in the import car world with every Civic owner thinking they need a 3" exhaust. Sometimes a conservative half inch to an inch over stock size is your best bet.
Also I applaud you actually having a full working dual exhaust and not a fake pipe;that's waaaay to ricey for my taste.

When I put on my free-flow, I figured I'd move up to 3" pipe (stock is 2 1/4"). _BAD_ move - I've since learned a lot about exhausts with our engines. I went back to 2 1/2" and the low end came back.
Ditto on Kudos for the real twins!

Do you have a 4 or 6 cylinder? Also, what size muffler did you get? I just replaced my TRD muffler and tip with a magnaflow 14" and it sounds pretty ridiculous. I'm loving it.

I think its a 18", I do NOT think this is possible with a stock 4runner.(I have a 3" body on mine and i think this is the reason he could run it.) I think you can run a dummy pipe and make it look like this or even better then mine looks but I wanted the real thing and this was the only way he could make it work and it didnt look bad at all so I just said go for it. It only costed me 100$ =). MKOOL: I just took some video footege of me going threw this little water area so ill try to upload them and post up a video.. If it works ill try to get one of me cranking and reving.. it isnt really loud or anything but you can def. tell a diff. from stock.

The problem is the spare. If you put your spare somewhere else... ie in a basket on the roof or inside against a wall somewhere you can. But there isn't enough room under there to have both. Thats what I hear... It was a popular subject a couple years ago when this forum was just getting off its feet and I think one guy did it, but not sure how/what he did to make it fit. try searching, but it may be gone by now.
I used to really want duals, your truck has reminded me how good it looks! Plus... I want your wheels!
