Driveshaft Length? 96 Taco

Could someone please measure the rear section of their driveshaft, after the carrier? I think the previous owner may have lengthened it after he put lift blocks on the truck.

Thanks in advance.

my slipspline measures 7" from the end of the yoke to the beginning of the driveshaft.
Make sense? Anyhow, keep in mind without dropping my driveshaft, I can't really get you an accurate measurement on the slipspline itself.
Measurements will also differ depending on amount of load/lift/compression etc.

sorry to bring this back but i didnt want to start a new thread.
on my 96 tacoma after doing my 3" lift i noticed the driveshaft extended about 1.5" from where it sat stock.

im wondering how much additional travel extension is in there, and if anyone has ever had problems with flexing and their shaft coming out.

I built 17" of travel in the rear of my 1996 taco and use the original driveline. The stock Tacoma driveline is amazing. I had the center carrier bearing replaced by an awesome driveline builder and I asked him to make SURE everything was cool and balanced. I've really hit it hard a couple of times in the past while mobbing over rock barriers and it is scarred up a little. He said everything was fine that it's one of the best drivelines out there, being that it's 2 piece which allows for more clearance.

I have completely bottomed the thing out and never had any issues pop up. I inspect things all the time. Just make sure you grease it up every year or so. Don't put too much grease in the joints or it will splash the underside pretty good =]

Derek, I've never seen or heard of the rear dshaft pulling apart at max flex. If you ever change out the leafs on your taco, you will be pleasantly surprised to see how much it can extend.
