What are, if any, the downside to putting wheel spacers on my rig?

I just want the wider look...not wider tires.

Any good places to get them from...and cheap?

I found some a while back for about 15-17 bucks a piece. And how hard are those to put on???

IIRC, I didn't think you wanted to go too wide on those spacers as they strain your wheel studs and other front end "stuff".

 

IIRC? I don't want to go extremely wide I just want to get some pertrusion from the wheel well. Right now they the wheels are still inside the wells.

Sounds like they are more for street racing applications...but I will give them a call once I find if it is safe/smart to use wheel spacers at all.

I know All Pro has 3/4" ones and 1 1/2" ones. For the cost of the 1 1/2" spacers, you could get black rock crawlers with a different offset.

Yeah, Cebby has a point, go with rims that have the wider offset.

The H&R spacers for the 4runner are over an inch (30mm) and they are $180 a pair... yikes!
