Downey Fenders

Downey Fenders
I was checking out the Downey site and came across there fiberglass fenders and was wondering how odd it would look without any mods to the rear fenders. Is there any way to mod the rear to look the same or to replace them?
Was also wondering what backspacing i should use to fit 33x12.50 BFG MT on my 92' PU it has a 3'' body lift... thx

You can also get fiberglass bedsides. Go to: www.glassworksunlimited.com

I had a 92 Toy pup with 6in lift, 33s, and the Downey front fenders. I liked the way it looked w/o the back kit. Of course you could go all out with the hood and both front/rear fiberglass kit if you really must have it matching.

Typically you do not use backspacing to accommodate for wider fenders, it is sort of the other way around. ie; when installing a long travel front end (7+ wider than stock) you need to install fiberglass fenders to cover the extra width. Also if you plan to install a full width rear axle you will need wider bedsides to clear the tires. Wider fiberglass body panels also allow for more compression clearance for larger diameter tires. Most people will keep the stock back spacing for their wheels with a setup like I described. You could use a slightly different offset to gain a marginally wider stance but it's not necessarily the best way to go about it. If you are interested in seeing how to install both fiberglass fenders and bedsides on a Toyota truck check out this link to our website and the same article on off-road.com

thx for the input....im sorry for not specifying but with the backspacing question i was refering to fitting them under the stock fenders. I was afraid that adding two inches without offsetting the extra width is going to make my tires rub
