I'm looking to put Downey Coils on my 93 Runner. I don't want it sitting super high, just something like stock specs. Anybody know the web address for Performance? Cheers

 

I am looking for some myself. I have'nt found anything yet either. If anyone knows a good source for Downeys' please speak up!

 

Any aftermarket spring you put on the rear of a 2nd gen is going to raise it some.
I got 2" in the rear of mine.

I have heard the Perf coils sag after time. You won't get that problem with the Downey's.
mine have been on since spring of '99.

You will find the vast majority of 2nd gen owners go for the Downey's as I have never heard a complaint.
They make two types. Regular and heavy duty. I have the latter. They hold up better if you load your rear with cargo.

OME (Old Man Emu) is another good coil, but a lot have found out they get 3 to 4" in the rear.
If I was to do it all over again, I would go with the exact same coils. I am very happy with these.
It's one of the best mods I ever did.

how much did the coils cost?. also, did you have to do anything to the front as well..or...just the rear coils. i too am looking to correct the sag on the rear of my 93 4runner.

Hi Doink, I paid Central 4WD $169 for the Downey coils.
Yes, I had to do a little to the front also.
Just a mild T bar crank to compensate for the added lift out back.

It's on one page III or IV, one of them.

You won't need to change T bars though unless you get an aftermarket bumper up front.

Just put those springs in a few weeks ago. They're great!

Cost about $300 CAN dollars. I've heard a lot about people having to torsion bar up the front to match the new rear height but mine looked about right so I didn't touch the front end.
