LOL alright you got me there.

What I meant is that the shock itself is not rebuildable, sure a whole new shock works

It's pretty clever what they did, they replaced the lower retainer plate with an adjustable threaded sleeve and added spacer like top.

All on top of an off the shelf Bilstein shock. Pretty Clever.

Ya I have to agree, however, is their cleverness worth 7 bills??

Either way, I have always thought Downey made a quality product!

Well, if I do end up with them I will have an extra set of bills currently on the truck... and with either the bills or the downeys. The coils come on the shock assembly right? so all i have to do is put them in, i don't need a spring compressor to do this correct?

Thanks

I was the same with 44Runner when I bought mine. I wasnt aware of the SAWs (dont know if they were even out 4 years ago). Nevertheless, they are a great product. I still have a good inch or 2 left to crank...but a little scared of breaking a CV. As far as the springs, I have no sag. Its important to make sure they are level. If on side is a little higher than the other...you'll wear unevenly...

Anyway, $200!!! Someone pick those up today!
