Doors Are for Freakin Pansies...

Since I hate doors; how hard would it be to take the doors off my 97 tacoma and then put them on again...you know if like a hurricane hit or something.

no, seriously.

Not hard. I know on 3rd gens you can modify the hinge to make some sort of quick release.

Oh Heck ya!!! Right on man, I say go for it! It's a door-less revolution for spring and summer!

doors arent only for pansies. they r also for people who have immature hicks at their school who would seriously mess up your interior if you came to school w/ no doors. They would learn their lesson. Id get mad. Then weld their lug nuts to their rims. hehe. Im a little devil

I am pretty sure it's illegal to drive on the street without doors - at least in some states it is. Might want to check on that too.

Yeah, Christian brings up a good point. I believe in Washington state, you have ot have some kind of lip around the bottom about 4" high or so. The idea is to keep any loose items that might be on the floor inside the vehicle.

Most states have a law regarding 2" of metal at the bottom of the doors. That's why jeeps and sammi's can get away with it..legally. It's built into the tub of the vehicle.

Ohio has the law too, I have tube doors and have never been hassled.

up here, not having doors is ok, but you need to have side mirrors, which are almost always attached to the doors...

CA has this law as well... if i ever do it, i will get a pice of thin plate and drill a couple holes with threaded rivit inserts, then weld a t handle on a bolt to attach the plates, that way i have a easily removeable lip that wont interfere with regular door use when its removed

you guys are required to have the side mirrors..? i think here, as long as you have either the side-mirrors, or the rear-view your legal.. or was it that you just need the side mirrors.. rear-view is optional.. i can't remember.

in CA you need to have whatever mirrors your truck was originally equipped with.... the only out on that is if there is some major obstruction rendering the rear vieu useless, like a topper or a lumber rack/headache bar that totally blocks it, then its allowed to be removed.....

Here in hawaii if you took your doors off your car, not only would all your stuff be missing. There might even be someone sleeping in your car when you return. Plus you need the doors to keep out all the hot chicks from jsut climbing into your truck and having thier way with you. I do the no door thing if I had a cheaper interior setuo though. I would rhino line the inside, and spray it down after I got back from the trails
