Door Mods

Just picked up a couple of new "toys" for my 98. Remember the door lights on the 91, 92, 93 that are red? Well started looking at how they are installed in the door panels. I pulled one in the wrecking yard and using the white plastic insert, I accessed a door panel from a 2000 and I could find that it fit the curvature in about the same location as it was on the 93. I am going to try to cut and fit the light fixture and lense cover in my 98. I will post up pics as the project progresses. I intend to mount it and wire in the lights to operate like the earlier ones when you open the door. Let me know what you think. May just go ahead and do the LED mod to the door handles too. More to come!

Thats good! Yes I am going to finish up my electric fan before I tackle the door lights. Been running into some minor snags on the Taurus fan, but I am documenting the install. The 2 speed fan switch needed to be modified so I had to do that first. Little things and what not. The wiring will be interesting as I have two relays to control the fan speeds, one is with the adjustable thermostat and the second is for a single speed so I will use it as a manual override control relay. More on that when I finish.

The door lights will be interesting as I am still in the process of "engineering" how I am going to install the lense, cut out the piece and mounting the housing, etc. Maybe 'RitzyElectric4runner'. thanks

Can't wait to see final pics too, and the rest of the write-up on the electric fan! I've been avidly watching for one to pop up and follow suit.
