This should be probably be in the maintenance section but wanted it to get read more. I am doing my front brakes this weekend and my question is should I just use a C-clamp to push back the pistons in the caliper or should I crack the bleeder when I do that. I plan to bleed them either way to flush out the system a bit and get some fresh fluid in there. Other than that I am pretty sure it's straight forward.. remove the caliper, undo the clips and remove the pads, push back the pistons, install new pads.. this sound about right? Thanks

 

If you haven't started yet. I don't think you have to remove the caliper. Just pull the wire 'spring' and retaining pins. Crack the master cylinder lid and slide those old pads out. Push pistons in and replace with new pads. Bleed brakes.
Just trying to save you a few steps. If is not easy, pull the caliper on the other side
